The Council of the Centre for Research on Culture, Language and Mind (Centre Q) at the University of Warsaw and the Director invite you to a debriefing seminar entitled “Humanities Perspectives – Centre Q Grant Experiences”.
The event is a summary of the research projects selected through a grant competition organised as part of the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” programme. Its main aim is to present and critically analyse the results of over a dozen interdisciplinary projects that have sought to develop new models for the advancement of the humanities through dialogue with quantitative methods, mathematical modelling and advanced digital technologies.
The seminar programme includes presentations of the results of projects carried out in various fields of the contemporary humanities. The presentations will cover, among other things, the use of digital tools and artificial intelligence, research into identity and memory, modern methods of analysing source materials, and the relationship between culture, language and the environment.
The projects carried out have contributed to the development of international cooperation between the University of Warsaw and leading research institutions, such as the University of Groningen, the University of Strasbourg, the University of Southern California and the Max Planck Institute.
The seminar will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and reflect on ways of transcending traditional disciplinary boundaries whilst preserving the distinctive character of humanities research. The discussion is also intended to identify further directions for the development of an interdisciplinary approach to research into culture, language and the mind.
We would like to invite members of the academic community in particular, as well as all researchers interested in methodological and technological changes in the contemporary humanities and social sciences, to take part.
The seminar will take place on 15 May 2026 from 10:00 to 16:00 at the Centre’s headquarters at 22 Niepodległości Avenue in Warsaw.
